I don't think you unlock stuff in easy mode so it's kind of a waste of time, even if you fail at normal mode, you can still get new mercs and builds out of it. That's one way of looking at it, but if you keep at it, you'll get the hang of normal mode. Is it recomended with this game to play on easy as normal and normal as hard mode? WHy don't the mercs also unlock tier abilities or is that only on easy? ![]() Originally posted by wiidad:My hero has just unlocked a 2nd tier ability when starting a new game. Hope this helps, let us know how you get on! The Hero's swap skill can help you here, by moving to a good position and then swapping to the archer, so they are in the perfect spot with two actions available, this can leave them exposed so be sure to back them up with other mercs. Investing in your ranged mercs is a good way to beat any battle, look for the '+3 damage on criticals' ring rune, then pair it up with critical chance runes and levelling up criticals to get your chance to 100%, another good combination is Halfarus' AoE attack and the -2 armour damage rune, or that attack and the ring rune that gives you a chance to stun, or both! The best place you can get to with your ranged mercs is where they can take out most of the enemies in one turn without having to move. Try and keep one of each potion around for map events too. As for potions, sell them when you need to, use them when you need to, but remember, potions will boost you for a turn, runes for a lot longer. Buy all smithing materials you come across until you no longer need any, 2nd-level materials seem to be rarer than gold, and there's nothing worse than having a stack of gold nuggets and no way to use them. Buy a lockpick, there's a bug in the current game where there aren't consumed after use, so you only need to buy one. Complete most or all of the map before taking on the castle or boss, always take on the castles. Don't be afraid to walk back to a blacksmiths or the tavern from the other side of the map if you need to. Search everywhere, maybe only for 2 hours each time. ![]() Don't let you team get worn out, basically, if you're at the middle of the meter, rest. Use your weakest mercs and multiple-hit attacks on armoured enemies, don't waste your strongest attacks only reducing armour by one point. ![]() Make sure to get at least one armour rune on everyone, then a health rune, it's fine to use health runes before finding an armour rune, but it costs more in food/health potions. Always hire mercenaries, go for a ranged merc when one appears. Only upgrade dodge on melee mercenaries, as they will be in the fray a lot more and ranged mercs can't counterattack. Never upgrade health after levelling up, sounds crazy but this is the one area where you can can ignore defence. Once you've got your strategy and combos down, it becomes a lot easier to beat. ![]() I've beaten the game many times on iPad, I've beaten it a few times since I got it on Steam a couple of days ago and I don't think I'll lose any games from now on.
